St Mary’s students are encouraged to explore and develop forms of expression and communication through the arts. Music, Art, Drama, Film and Television and Dance are featured in presentation nights, tours, musical productions, performing arts evenings, festivals, eisteddfods and community productions.
Students interested in the arts also have opportunities to be involved in liturgical work, preparation and presentation, as part of our Masses, St Mary’s Feast Day, and Liturgies.
Students also attend a variety of performances, workshops and exhibitions by touring and local artists.
Talent and imagination have no boundaries. The Arts at St Mary’s are alive and exciting!
Instrumental music program
St Mary’s Catholic College Instrumental Music program offers specialist music tuition in strings, woodwind, brass, percussion and voice at St Mary’s along with seven affiliated Primary Schools. Music ensembles within the school include College Choir, String Ensemble, Chamber Strings, Concert Band and Combined Primary School String Ensemble. Students are encouraged to participate in many community performances, eisteddfods, music camps, arts tours, mentoring days and State Honours Ensemble Programs.
In addition to music ensembles, St Mary’s offers dance ensembles and drama club. Students participate in weekly rehearsals and engage in workshops, eisteddfods, tours and community performances.
St Mary Catholic College have a limited number of instrumental and vocal music bursaries, available for students’ displaying skill and aptitude on their chosen instrument.
